NCAA Bid Awaits Terrapin Victory over Wake—Maybe

The general consensus is that a victory over Wake Forest tonight should virtually assure Maryland’s return to the dance. The win would move the Terps to 8-7 in the ACC with victories over #2 North carolina, #8 Michigan, and #10 Wake Forest. However there just weems to be a sickening feeling in my gut that so many media Dookies (not including Jay Bilas who seems to give Maryland fair treatment), Tar Heels, Digger Phelps, and Joe Lunardi just are anti Maryland. How in the world could Lunardi drop the Terps out of his brackets based on a tight game  with Duke and a road win versus NC State. The new anti Maryland mantra is lack of quality road wins.  Oh yea and last night Doug Gottlieb injected bad losses in the mix and naturally mentioned Maryland. Where is John Swofford, the ACC Commissioner coming out to defend his teams? Why is it Virginia Tech  or Maryland –not both?If Maryland is getting burned by the national media where is the local media support? Somebody please step up to the plate. I will have much more to say about media influence on Thursday on Terp Talk.

Wake Forest is extremely beatable tonight. Here are some thoughts on how the Terrapins will beat the Demon Deacons.

Just keep Jeff Teague under control. He will get his points but no carfeer night tonight.

Make James Johnson and Al Farouq Aminu fight for everything they get.

Greivis-stay out of fould trouble.

Let’s get a few more points out of the bench.

Wake lost to NC State, Georgia Tech and got crushed by Miami’s zone defense. All of these games were on the road.

40 minutes of intense Gary Williams type basketball and then let the arguments begin because Maryland at that point will deserve to be DANCING!!!!!
