Terrell Vinson Might Be Rethinking Terrapin Way–Waiting on Lance’s Decision

The merry go round keeps turning with events changing every day. Analyze this: Rivals.com reported today in its Whispers column that Terrell Vinson might be rethinking his possible committment to UMass and now is considering Maryland. Listen to the chain of events. Lance really wants to go to Kansas but if Xavier Henry decides to be a Jayhawk, Lance knows Self will forget he ever knew him. That would leave Lance with St John’s or the logical choice -Maryland.  Vinson might be thinking that if Lance doesn’t go to Maryland, maybe he will join his buddy Sean Mosley and become a Terp. At least this would be logical thinking for Vinson as without Greivis, the Terps would be in dire need of a scoring guard. Now today Adam Zagoria reported that Memphis is showing interest in Lance. Of course they would because Calipari has destroyed the Tiger program. Bad choice Lance!!!! We will try to make some sense of this on Terp Talk tomorrow night at 6PM. I know that many UMass fans have been reading my blogs on Vinson. Listen in tomorrow night.

What exactly is your scholarship situation down there at MD? If Greivis returns – which seems likely, no? -do you have any room? Or will someone decide to transfer? The feeling up here in MA is that Terrell likes us and sees a lot of positives, and would be comfortable committing here. But MD would be choice A, for many obvious reasons. Assuming Stephenson goes elsewhere, do you need to “make room” for Vinson, and would you?

Vinson has been back and forth with the Terps for a while now. Everyone says that Lance just doesn’t want to be a Terp. I don’t believe that but if it is so, there is a good chance Vinson might come our way. Right now there is no scholarship available but it is likely one will become available by either Greivis opting for the pros or one of our bigs leaving.

I haven’t seen one thing that indicates Greivis will be a high draft pick…seems like he would be making a big mistake if he hires an agent and leaves. So if that is the case, you’d have no room unless someone suspiciously decides to leave….I’m sure that would happen if Lance wanted to come….not as sure they’d push someone out for Vinson. But maybe I’m just hopeful. We don’t get too many Top 50 or Top 100 guys up here….!
