Stephenson Sr Has Kind Words For Terrapin Staff–Answers Critics From Washington Post

Zagsblog posted an article this morning about the latest in Lance Stephenson’s recruiting.  In the article, Lance Stephenson Sr. mentions the efforts our coaches have taken to put Lance in a Terp uniform.

“I talk with Coach [Gary] Williams, Coach [Keith] Booth and Coach [Chuck] Driesell, they’ve just been there,” he said. “Maryland is going through their process where they want to pick a player and they’re not putting any rush on us. They want Lance to be sure if he does want to go to Maryland, that he really wants to be there. Maryland has been really patient in working with the family.”

Within the same article Stretch vehemently denies over meddling in his son’s recruiting. He is an interesting guy who is protecting his son’s interests. He still lists 4 schools Lance might attend, including Maryland, Memphis, Florida, Arizona.

I have said over and over again, the Stephenson camp ia waiting for Greivis’ NBA decision. If Greivis goes pro, my guess is Lance will be a Terp.

So are you thinking that Lance WON’T declare for MD if Greivis comes back? What is your current thought process on this I’m curious

Lance will go here if Greivis stays. It’s just his trial and making sure school is all set. Greivis will make Lance an even more effective player. Once his trial is done, he will visit Arizona and announce the Terps after it.

Lance will do fine with Zona or UMD. If it were me and I was going for four years, I’d choose either one. For one year of playing, I’d go to play for a HOF coach that’s produced as many NBA players as Zona during his tenure. And that’s when Lute Olsen was there. Now SM’s a first year PAC-10 coach. He’ll still be getting used to coaching in the PAC-10 and Lance will be gone. The first year’s an adjustment.
