I will never understand why Matt Stover wasn’t resigned. Then  again I never understood why Trent Dilfer wasn’t brought back. get rid of guys when they have failed not when they are on a hot streak. We will never know if Stover would have made the FG but a dcision to keep a special teams reserve over a guy that won game after game and rarely failed in the clutch baffles me. The August 31 headline says it all: Bring Back Stover Before a Disaster Strikes. But as they say “The horse is out of the barn.”
