Greivis, Landon Lead Terps to 72-59 Victory over FAU

Some observations of Maryland’s 8th Victory of the year:

Greivis was stellar today scoring 26 on 12-20 shooting with 8 rebounds and 5 assists.  After the game he spoke about the need for stronger rebounding and his slow start. Greivis FAU

Landon chipped in with 19 points.

Sean Mosley sat out the game with an ankle injury but could have played if needed. Gary was saving him for a very tough William and Mary Game Wednesday night.

I talked with Mike Jarvis, FAU coach after the game about the Terps Mike Jarvis He was impressed with the overall teamwork of the Terps.

It seems like Jordan Williams has won back the starting positon from Dino Gregory. Jordan is just using his size to his advantage. Each game he shows improvement.  Also Dino does give you that spark off thebench. I am sure that over the season this will change.

It’s great to see Cliff Tucker have another good game, scoring 11 with 3 assists and 0 turnovers. I quote Gary “”In the first half, he got in the game and took his shots. In other words, he was on balance, he took really good shots, he drilled them and it was great to see.”

Terps out rebounded 49-45—reminded me of a time Maryland was playing great defense but losing—-bottom line—just win baby!!!

Bowie Padgett Dino—2 points from the bench— a little disconcerting

Attendance was 15000—Why in the world a game would be scheduled on a Sunday afternoon in December I will never understand

I watched the Ravens game on slingbox while I was at the Terps game and after Gary’s press conference –he asked about the game.

O.K here’s the reality. Dino is at best an average bench player. Kinda undersized for power forward, limited offensive skills for small forward. With Bowie his value to the team is at point guard if he can play point guard. the question is does Bowie have the “court sense'” or “feel” to play point guard. So far I would say no. With Padgett I’d like to see more of him on the floor with Williams and have Milbourne move to small forward. Having 2 players with decent size upfront and Milburne at the 3 would in my opinion give Md its best chance to be a good rebounding team. plus I think with Williams and Padgett on the baseline the guards could play a little more aggressively on defense, play a little chest to chest, in your face defense If the offensive player goes by them you have 2 big men back protecting the basket. That’s one fans opinion. Gary, if you’re reading this give it a try. If it doesn’t work blame it on me.
