Maryland linebacker Alex Wujciak was named on Monday to the watch list for the 2010 Bronko Nagurski Trophy. The Nagurski Trophy is awarded annually to the nation’s best defensive player by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and the Charlotte Touchdown Club. It marks the third preseason watch list appearance for Wujciak, who is also among the candidates for the Lott Trophy (top impact defensive player) and Lombardi Award (top performer who plays near the line of scrimmage). A two-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection (first team in 2009; second team in 2008), Wujciak had 131 tackles last year and ranked eighth nationally in that category (10.9 per game).
