I asked Gary in the post game press conference was it a better offensive or defensive performance. His response was aggressive d usually leads to aggresive offense. This was a very strong home game against a quality opponent. The Terrapins dominated from wire to wire. Just about every scrum went their way but what stands out in this game was the unselfish, near flawless performsnce of Greivis. 19 points on 11 shots, 5 assists, tremendous help defense on Tracy Smith, and all this while being double teamed and trapped most of the game.

Dino Gregory is slowly getting back to a significant role on the team. As State was trying to creep back into the game, it was Dino who shut the door.

Sean Mosley keyed the aggressive effort by driving to the hoop repeatedly and garnering 16 foul shots. Sean finished with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

Landon was Landon–18 points in a 7-11 shooting night–again very solid.

Cliff Tucker seems to be relishing his 6th man role, agains scoring double fiures (11) ina solid 17 minute performance.

Jordan Williams came ready to play tonight scoring 8 points early and dominating the boards inthe 1st half.

The Ravens hierarchy—Bishotti, Harbaugh, Cameron, and Mattison were all in attendance tonight and celebrated the victory with Gary on the court after the game.

The Terp are now 3-1 in conference play and await Miami on Tuesday night at Comcast.

I say it again—Parity has arrive in the ACC. The Senior leadership on this team combined with the superior game coaching of the Maestro, Gary Williams, should make this an excellent season but let’s continue to take the games 1 possession at a time!!!

Following a disappointing loss to Navy less than 24 hours ago, the seventh-ranked University of Maryland wrestling team wasted little time in showing its mettle against conference foes North Carolina State and Duke. In front of 814 fans at Comcast Pavilion, the Terrapins downed the Wolfpack 30-10 and handed Duke a 32-9 defeat to improve to 3-0 in Atlantic Coast Conference action. The Terps (15-4), whose last home loss was on Jan. 11, 2009, won seven out of 10 matches against both NC State (5-8) and Duke (2-4) to extend their winning streak at Comcast Pavilion to eight matches.
I have said it all year—there is no true leader in the ACC. The Terrapins have a TREMENDOUS opportunity to jump out and take hold of the upper ACC echelon. Duke was Destroyed tonight by NC State and Carolina lost its 3rd in a row- this time to Wake by 13 points in the Dean Dome. NC State comes in on Saturday and then Miami ( who lost at home to Boston College) next Tuesday. Let’s take it 1 shot at a time.

As predicted here on Terp Talk, the Terrapins won another squeaker on the road at Chesnut Hill defeating Boston College and thus avenging the home loss suffered earlier in the year. It is really a shame that the game was only on ESPNU and so many Marylanders missed watching a great Terp performance!!!! Greivis Vasquez was simply perfect–scoring 25 points and dishing out 8 assists in perhaps his finest effort as a Terp. Gary moved a step closer to the Hall of Fame by winning his 600th game last night. The Terps needed a 3 pointer from Eric Hayes late in the game to insure victory. Once again however the bench did not produce much scoring, a situation that must be overcome. The Terps are now 15-8 overall and 5-3 in the ACC. Next up—NC State Saturday night at Comcast.
