Varlamov Outstanding, Ovie Scores Twice as Caps ease Past Montreal 6-3 and Take a Commanding 3-1 Lead

April 22nd, 2010 · No Comments

13 more wins until the Capitals claim their first Stanley Cup. Great players are measured by titles and now it is Ovechkin’s turn. Semyon Varlamov was simply outstanding [...]

June 7th, 2009 · No Comments

In a game reminiscent of the shellacking Pittsburgh gave the Caps in Game 7, Detroit thoroughly humbled Malkin, and Sid, etc. The Pens looked finished as they cheapshotted their way through the end of the game. The Red Wings will put Siney out of his misery on Tuesday.

7th Game Prediction for Caps Penquins Series

May 13th, 2009 · No Comments

Now that I have joined the #8 fan club, I have to put my bias aside for the following prediction. It is inconceivable that Mike Green will continue to be a no show in this series. The Caps defense must provide better support for Varlamov. The performance of the defense after the Caps took a [...]

Steckel Scores in OT–Caps Win 4-3 Even Series at 3-3

May 12th, 2009 · No Comments

The defense remains weak but the Caps resolve was strong as Ovie had 3 assists and played a tremendous game leading his Caps to victory. When the caps took the lead on Koslov’s goal the team went into offensive hibernation. Varlamov stopped shot after shot until Crosby rebounded one in with 4 minutes left. It [...]
