Northwestern Eases to 4th Straight National Championship–Is Maryland’s 7 Year Streak in Jeopardy

The brilliance of former Maryland All American, Kelly Amonte Hiller was on display this weekend at Johnny Unitas Stadium as the rest of college lacrosse at this time is no match for the Wildcats.  The “Cats thoroughly dominated Penn 10-6, never trailing after gaining a 2-1 lead early in the first half.  Why is Northwestern faster, tougher, more aggressive, better conditioned, with more imaginative plays then any other team?  The model is there, let’s see how the top teams react this year.  The match up us Terp fans wanted of course was Maryland Northwestern–perhaps Dana Dobbie and Kelly Kasper might have had the ability to attack this defense, but we will never know.

Hopkins attempts to repeat as NCAA Champions tomorrow at Gilette Stadium in Boston and I do believe the senior leadership of Paul rabil and Stephen Peyser will accomplish this task. It seems like when you are a Hopkins goalier, the tournament belongs to them.  Mike Gvozden has rewarded Petro’s faith in him with stunning performances. Mike Leveille is the wild card here–can he summit up a Powell type effort? Not today–Hopkins 11  Syracuse 10.

Tonight , I see Boston continuuing to dominate Detroit  Boston 101  Detroit 108.
