Maryland’s Katie O’Donnell was named the ACC’s Field Hockey Player of the Week, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced. She is the first Terrapin to receive the honor this year, earning the fourth citation of her career. With three wins over ranked opponents last week, Maryland also moves up to the No. 1 spot in the national coaches poll. The Terrapins are 4-0 heading into this weekend’s Terrapin Invitational, where they will face No. 7 Syracuse and Northwestern. Maryland is ranked No. 1 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll, collecting 998 points and 22 first-place votes, edging out No. 2 Wake Forest, who has 973 points and 28 first-place votes. North Carolina, who was No. 1 last week, slips down to No. 3.
