Yes it’s my biased self speaking, but let’s analyze why this team is ready to make a run. Senior Leadership prevails at he most important position-that of guard. With Hayes and Greivis, the Terps have their backcourt combo since the championship days. Bowie, Mosley , and Tucker give guard, small forward depth that the Terrapins have never had. Landon Milbourne whether playing the 3 or 4 position has another year under his belt and a tremendous character resume stemming from his multi role last year. The bigs are Jordan Williams, Freshman, James Padgett a classic PF that only knows rebounds defense, and put backs, a Junior Dino Gregory coming off a much improved Sophomore year, and the new Steve Goins. You have to be in love with this team and as the Freshmen develop so do the chances of this team making a serious post season run. Who is better then the Maestro himself, Gary Williams to put this puzzle together and make a run? Yea I am psyched up and counting the days to opening night.

if if if the big men can just rebound on both ends of the floor and play defense the first half of the season and gradually add some offense in the team will be fine come march. i expect vasquez to average around 18 pts hayes 12 milbourne 12 moseley 8 tucker 8 bowie 5 kim 2 gregory 4 williams 7 padgett 5 goins 3 that’s 84 pts. thank goodness the terps gave up in lance. let’s face it if he wanted to sign with md. he would have already. lance is headed for europe because he doesn’t have the grades to go to college. it’s time for md. to stop getting involved with players of questionable character. no doubt gary has been reading my stuff on this blog and realizes and accepts that fkterp sees all and knows all.

I am psyched too! One question: you named of everyone on the team, including Goins, except Kim. I saw Jin Soo several times last year and he looks like he could bring some intensity and a pure shooting touch off the bench, assuming he bulks up in the offseason. What do you think of his chances to contribute in the coming season?
Thanks!

this is from te washington post
Before Gary Williams’s alter ego withdrew his name from the NBA draft and told his coach he was returning for his senior season on Monday, it was no secret in basketball circles: Greivis Vasquez didn’t wow the people paid to poke and prod and run stopwatches on prospective pro players.
Heck, Notre Dame beefcake Luke Harangody and Pittsburgh’s round mound of rebound, DeJuan Blair, who won the body-fat competition (12 percent) at the NBA pre-draft camp, ran faster times in the three-quarter-court sprint drill than Maryland’s main man of last spring.
Syracuse skywalker Jonny Flynn’s vertical leap was measured at an ungodly 40 inches, a full foot higher than the guy with the worst standing jump at the camp, Greivis Vasquez.
