It’s Official Strickland to South Carolina —Drey Mingo to Purdue
Marah Strickland takes her 2 years of eligibility left and bolts for South Carolina to play for the legendary Dawn Staley. Marah under NCAA rules will have to sit out this season.
it seems to me strickland had trouble being the 3rd or 4th option and wanted to go somewhere that would give her the opportunity to be the number 1 or 2 option. it also seemed she was more or less a spot up jump shooter and not that adept at creating her own shot. i would think md would be a team looking to go inside a lot this yr with kizer and liles plus a couple of big time front court recruits. barrett and rodgers get better and better as the season progressed at the guard position and they have a new point guard coming in. so i think strickland would have gotten less minutes this yr. had she stayed at md.
