Four Terrapin Swimmers to Compete at USA World Championship Trials

INDIANAPOLIS – Four University of Maryland swimmers are poised to compete in the 2009 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships (World Championship Trials) in Indianapolis this week. On the men’s side, incoming sophomore Andrew Relihan will compete in the 400 IM on Tuesday, 200 IM on Friday and conclude his trials with a stint in the 200 back Saturday.

Patty DeScenza, who will serve as captain for the second-straight season for the Terps in 2009-10, is swimming in the 200 fly Friday. CSCAA Scholar All-American and NCAA Championship participant Annie Fittin will compete in the 100 back Wednesday. Rising sophomore Lia Reich will participate in the 400 free relay Wednesday.
