Perhaps GM Ernie Grunfeld has found a new formula for NBA success. Watch how your team plays with 7 or 8 free agents to be. It was easy to observe the “New Look” Wizards treating the Verizon crowd to an all out lay your body on the line performance last night . Nothing triggers victory like aggressive defense!!!What a pleasure to not have to watch the dreary one on one play of the big 3 that basically was putting everyone to sleep in losing efforts. Let’s analyze some of the new cast:
Al Thornton–he is quickly recovering from his case of Clipperitis–that being relegated to obscurity in LA with the other franchise. Yes this is the guy I remember wrecking havoc in the ACC while on Florida State. Last night he was superb. HE IS A KEEPER!!! Sign him up Ernie!!!
Andre “the go to guy” Blatche– 25 points many while being double teamed. He is out from the role of having to make his first shots in order to get the ball and get playing time.
Randy “The Distributor” Foye—reminded me of the way he controlled things at Villanova. Great Floor game.
James Singleton—12 rebounds and 9 points===all out hustle, would be a steal at the right price.
Josh Howard –in 7 minutes before tweaking his knee Josh was quickly making you forget Caron, It should be interesting to see how he plays out.
Zadrunas—Where are you?
Toss in Derrick Favors in the lottery and Greivis at #30 and the joint will be rocking every night in DC!!!!
Here is the bottom line —The New Wizards have given the fans hope that all is not lost. Let the free agents battle to show their stuff. It was fun to be at Verizon once again!!!
