Just an incredibly fantastic game tonight as the Terrapins moved to 11-3 setting up a first place game against Duke Wednesday night at Comcast. Let’s go over some high points of the game.
Is there any doubt Senor Vasquez is ACC Player of the Year, Along with 41 points, he had 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. When the Terrapins trailed 50-42 Greivis scored Maryland’s next 11 points including 3 threes in a row. Seth Greenberg commented on Greivis post game: “He’s good, “He’s been a handful all year. He’s a handful every game. He’s a really good player. He changes speeds and changes directions. The guy’s a good player.”
Malcolm Dulaney scored 27 but missed 2 crucial free throws down the stretch. Jeff Allen had a huge game scoring 25 with 15 points.
I do not like Virginia Tech. I do not like Seth Greenberg. But in all honesty, this team deserves a bid to the dance. 8-6 in the ACC and 21-7 overall give them a ticket, please.
Dino Gregory played 32 crucial minutes. Landon just could not handle Jeff Allen but Dino subbed in and certainly created a little havoc. Eric Hayes and Greivis form a super Senior backcourt and their steadiness has been the reason the Terrapins are 11-3. I repeat 11-3. Eric had 12 points and 10 assists tonight. The tean committed only 11 turnovers in 50 minutes.
The Terrapins are now 4-3 on the road in the ACC. How can they not break into the top 20. Tonight the announcers kept saying the Hokies needed this win against a marquis team. On ESPN’s graphics Cincy’s biggest win is against Maryland.
Wednesday is setting up to be the biggest game ever played at Comcast. The regular season ACC title will be on the line. Let’s root for UVA tonight against the Blue Devils.
