Terps men’s soccer loses to UNC, 2-1 (Interview with Coach Cirovski)

Below is the post game interview with Sasho Cirovski after the Terp’s 2-1 loss to the Tar Heels at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill.  Michael Farfan scored 2 goals for UNC, including an unbelievable shot from 35 yards out just 10 minutes into the game.  The Terps had plenty of offensive chances, including a Matt Kassel shot from point-blank range, that deflected off a defender and then off the post.  It was interesting to watch Cirovski tinker with the offensive lineup to try and get something going for Maryland.  At one point, he took both Jason Herrick and Casey Townsend off the front line and replaced them with Jordan Cyrus and Matt Oduaran.

Friday night’s game reminded me a lot of the Wake Forest game last year that was played in Winston-Salem.  The Terps gave up an early goal and then couldn’t cash in on numerous offensive opportunities throughout the game.
