Taylor Kemp’s full volley in the 88th minute vaulted No. 2 seed Maryland past No. 15 Penn State, 1-0, in the third round of the 2010 NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship Sunday. Kemp’s first goal as a Terrapin could not have come at a better time as it would be the last of 21 shots Maryland fired on the evening, but it’s first and only on goal. Maryland (19-2-1) stumped a powerful Penn State offense, led by the nation’s top goal-scorer Corey Hertzog. The Terps will face Michigan next Saturday at Ludwig at 1PM. At stake a berth in the College Cup.
