Huff played multiple secondary positions at oakland but he was basically signed to replace Ed Reed.

Great additon to the Ravens’ defense. Huff has missed 18 tackles in the last 3 years – Ed Reed missed 16 last year alone! Huff is very fast. In fact, he played 14 out of 16 games last season at corner for the Raiders. Injuries forced that move, and he did a solid job there. The Ravens were high on him back in 2006 when he was drafted out of Texas. He adds veteran leadership and speed to the defensive backfield, and after playing for such a sad franchise as the Raiders, it has to be a breath of fresh air for him to come to the Super Bowl champs! I still think the Ravens will take a safety relatively high in the draft. It is a very deep position this year, and some real good ball players will drop to the second, third and fourth round. I really like DJ Swearinger out of South Carolina, and Phillip Thomas out of Fresno State. Those guys can learn playing next to Huff.
