University of Maryland sophomore Stefon Diggs has been named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation announced on Tuesday. The Biletnikoff Award recognizes the nation’s most outstanding collegiate wide receiver and is selected by the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee.
The 2013 Biletnikoff Award winner will be announced live on Dec. 12 as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards Show, which will be broadcast on ESPN. Semifinalists will be announced on Nov. 18 with three finalists being named on Nov. 25.
Diggs is one of only 16 sophomores on the 75-player watch list and is one of 10 ACC players. In 2012, Diggs led the ACC and ranked eighth nationally in all-purpose yards with 172.4 per game and ranked fifth in the league with 77.1 receiving yards per game en route to earning second team All-ACC honors.
