If you listened to the Sports Maven this morning , you would have heard the MLL Champion Chesapeake Bayhawks’ Head Coach Dave Cottle predicting victory over Syracuse today based on superiority at the X position and goalkeeping. Dave hit it on the nose. Fogo Charlie Raffa was 19-7 on faceoffs, Nike Amato was brilliant in the cage and Connor Cannizzaro’s homecoming to the dome was sensational as the freshman was awarded Player of the Game.
I just did not see this coming. I would not have been shocked if the #5 Terps would have won, but I was shocked with the total domination they exhibited.
Look at these stats: 19-8 on face offs, 36-17 on Groundballs, and remember Tillman absolutelu and rightly called off the dogs in the 4th quarter.

“Not much to say other than my hat is off to Maryland,” SU head coach John Desko said. “I thought they handled the pressure of coming into the Carrier Dome extremely well. They had a couple of freshmen running around out there that didn’t seem intimidated at all. I thought they played very well and had a good game plan.”
