Painful 6-5 Loss To The Yankees

Highs in a miserable defeat:

Chen certainly pitched well.

Adam Jones hit a 2 run homer to give the O’s a 4-2 lead

Good to see Manny get a couple of key hits

Lows

Chris Davis–4 strikeouts and thankfully Pearce bailed him out of 5 by grounding out to end the game. I would expect that Davis might be lowered in the batting order relatively soon.

Tommy Hunter—baffled that he was allowed to lose the game for the O’s when Matusz was ready to come in to face Drew but I have learned to never 2nd guess Buck. Buck gave Hunter every chance to be the closer last year until Cabrera took him deep in the 9th inning in Baltimore.  I wonder how much patience Buck will have this year with Hunter as a set up man.

Base running–I agree with being aggressive but it is painful when it goes wrong.

Hurting

Having to watch Andrew Miller

I wrote last year that Davis & Hunter must go for the Orioles to win it all. I have not changed my mind.
