Once again, Buck left the starter in to long. If it was not for poor base running for the twins in the second who knows how many more runs they would have scored. Number 13th lost by Buck.

The O’s put up 2 runs so you’re telling me the right move was to pull Gonzalez in 2nd inning after giving up only 1 run?

McFarland is a long reliever so he would have been in the game at some point and he gave up a 5 spot. If he’s in there for the 2nd inning through the 4th your still down 7-0 and have 5 innings that need to be covered with only 6 relievers left in the bullpen so you’re ultimately pitching Chris Davis. Why not leave Gonzales out there, let him figure it out (which he did) and save your relievers for the rest of the series. You don’t sacrifice a series by killing your bullpen in game 1. Baseball is a long season and you have to manage accordingly.

The game started 2 hours late. But I started to watch it. Gonzalez gave up five runs in the second and there was only one out and runners on second & third. I then went to bed. Note: The bullpen was not called to warm up until he gave up the five runs in the second.
