Shatori Walker-Kimbrough scored 19 points, Brionna Jones had 15 points and 11 rebounds and No. 8 Maryland rolled past Iowa in a 76-56 win on Sunday.
Kristen Confroy added 11 points, including nine from beyond the arc, and the Terrapins forced 16 turnovers to snap Iowa’s 25-game home winning streak in Maryland coach Brenda Frese‘s return to her home state.
The Terrapins (14-2, 3-1 Big Ten) have won two straight since falling to No. 5 Ohio State on Jan. 2.
Maryland led wire-to-wire, but used a 14-4 run in the third quarter to pull away from Iowa. Jones scored seven of her 15 points during that key stretch. Brene Moseley, Tierney Pfirman and Brianna Fraser each posted nine points as the Terps relied on a balanced attack against the Hawkeyes.
The Terps shot 53.3 percent from 3-point range, including 60 percent in the second half, while holding Iowa to just 18.2 percent from behind the arc. Maryland shot 46.8 percent from the field in the game.
