Sophomore David Kocher of the Maryland men’s golf team was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week for the first time in his career Wednesday.
Kocher, who is ranked No. 18 in the country, finished tied for fourth in the individual standings. He shot a combined score of 210 (71-68-71), which was -6 overall.
The Terrapins wrapped up at the Puerto Rico Classic Tuesday at the Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
They earned a total team score of 869, which was five-over. Maryland finished eighth in the 15-team field, topping No. 14 Purdue, No. 32 North Carolina State and No. 50 Michigan along the way.
