Nice interview, guys. I really enjoyed seeing Jeff Baxter and, more importantly, hearing what he had to say. However, the next time you ask me to “join Brude and Wayne” one of you needs to be wearing a Batman mask.
Seriously, this is a terrific win and the team still isn’t healthy with Wiley & Ceko still sitting out. The three freshmen were terrific tonight and, I though bailed Melo out. He had some great drives and made big free throws but 5-16 shooting isn’t great. There was also a sequence of hero ball that included a really ill-advised three pointer that came 6 seconds into a possession with about 5 and a half minutes to play after the Terps had clawed back from 59-63 down. And he was a liability defensively more than one.
Huerter’s three pointer followed by the rebound and outlet to Cowan were huge plays. Baxter was spot on about Cowan’s defense on Blackmon and Jackson kept the Terps in it in the first half. When he gets stronger and can finish better around the basket, he’s really going to be a load to defend.
