Trey Mancini hit two of Baltimore’s five home runs — all in the first three innings — and the Orioles powered their way to a 12-5 victory over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. A night after Boston’s bats put up eight runs, Baltimore returned the favor against Wright by tagging him for six in a first inning that included back-to-back homers from Mancini and Jonathan Schoop. Adam Jones and Chris Davis each added a solo shot in the second. from espn.com
Ubaldo is unbearable to watch–104 pitches in 4 1/3 innings and unable to get a win when the O’s were up 9-0 in the 3rd. Nice relief job by Mychal Givens to get the win. This obsession of getting the win for your starter almost cost the O’s the game. Ubaldo’s ERA is 10.38. Just saying.
Big Topic for Saturday on the Sports Maven–un suffering long baseball games—something has to change.
The Rams are suing the NFL for allowing the franchise move to LA.
Dr Wallace Loh called out North Carolina for escaping severe punishment for its academic scandal in the Athletics Dept and was called a “double idiot” by Head Coach Roy Williams. I think I’ll stand behind Dr Loh on this one. Roy Williams did a fantastic job taking NC to the Natty BUT Judgment Day is coming!!!!!!!
The Wizards open up the 1st round of the playoffs on Sunday at 1 vs Atlanta.
The Caps begin Thursday night vs Toronto.
The Celtics wound up with the best record in the East, and could be the Wizards next opponent if the Wiz can get past Atlanta.
