Ubaldo was just throwing Batting Practice on Sunday–11 hits 6 runs in 3 2/3 innings. I think Buck wanted to leave him in to finish the 4th so the Boo Birds would not explode but nercifully for the fans Buck yanked him out. It was just sad. Not funny. Ubaldo’s era is now over 7. 1-5 Chris Tillman goes against Texas tonight.Zach Britton has been relegated to the mop up committee. Looking hopeless as O’s fall to a last place tie — 9 games behind the Red Sox. Cotton candy, dipping dots and hot dogs were excellent however. My grandson had a great time playing with the Bird and on the playground and can’t wait to go to another game. Speechless.
After 6 innings at Camden Yards, I went over to Caves Valley to watch the final groups of the Seniors Players roll in. Langer was nealy flawless until one shot did him in. Watching with H Levin, I said the shot off the tee on 17 (normally the 8th hole is brutal for anyone when the heat is on. Sure enough with the tournament victory or at least a playoff surely in hand, Langer hit a horrendous iron into the drink and then wasn’t close on his bogey putt. Victory gone. Steady Scott Montgomery was gifted the win. Everything about the event was 1st class as is always the case at Caves Valley.
The Bayhawks lost at Florida 20-19 and now at 4-6, probably have to win out to make the playoffs. Colin Heacock scored twice for Chesapeake. Tewaaraton winner Matt Rambo had his first MLL hat trick for Charlotte.
Portland (Jake Layman) and the Lakers will face off for the Summer League NBA title Monday night. Lonzo Ball had to leave the game with stiffness in his calf and my guess he will not play Monday night.
