To be the man you have to beat the man.
The Terps did it today in a 4 hour marathon at Darrell K Royal Stadium in Austin Texas.
There is no denial, I never thought they would win this game. Mason kept telling me the Terps had a great chance because it was Herman’s first game and it will take time for Texas to get used to his system. As well as, Piggy was playing so much better.
Funny thing is the early interception for Texas and TD might have been the best thing for Maryland. It probably calmed everything down for the Terps and might have allowed Texas to become complacent.
Hopefully Piggy is OK as well as Jesse, and Richardson. Pigrome was poised, confident, and much superior in every phase vs last year.
What can you say about DJ Moore? 7 catches for 133 yards and 1 Td as well as 3 first down catches on 3rd down.
Ty Johnson 132 yds rushing on 11 carries and 2 Kick returns for 80 yards.
Tremendous character by Maryland–coming back to score twice after Texas had cut deep into the lead.
Kasim Hill–an 18 year old coming off the bench to replace the injured Pigrome and engineering a TD drive.
The Terps rushed for 263 yards–tearing up the vaunted front 7 from Texas.
Shane Cockerille returns to the lineup and leads the team with 7 tackles.
Rumors that Pigrome’s and Jesse’s injuries are serious. If true what a shame–Piggy has just engineered one of the greatest Terrapin victories of all time. Here’s hoping for a full recovery!!!!
