Terps Roll Over Carolina 11-7 in Pacific Coast Classic

It was Justin Shockey night in Costa Mesa in the 5th Annual PC Shootout Saturday night. The #2 Terps move to 7-1 entering conference play and complete a 3-1 record in the 4 game gauntlet we talked about so much (Notre Dame, Albany, @Villanova and UNC).

Shockey (a freshman) was just totally dominate at the face off X. Connor Kelly scored 5 goals and Jared Bernhardt added a hat trick for Maryland.

Down 9-4 at the start of the 4th quarter, Carolina notched 3 straight goals as Patrick Kelly and Chris Cloutier rallied the squad. But it was to no avail as Bryce Young dented the nets to put the game away for Maryland (first long pole goal of the season for Maryland).

The B1G Schedule begins for the Terps next Saturday against the rising Michigan squad who defeated UMBC 9-6 today behind the stellar play of Sr Goalkeeper Tommy Heidt. 1st year Head Coach Kevin Conry has turned this program around almost immediately.

Elsewhere – Johns Hopkins came back from a 9-2 half time deficit to defeat UVA 15-13 and moving its win streak to 5. It should be a great and tough B1G Season.
