26th straight opening day victory for Maryland
It seemed like it was a new cast of characters on the field for Maryland. Brett Makar, a much heralded Fr started as one of the long poles, Louis Dubick started on attack and contributed 1 G and 1 A. Danny Dolan, transfer goalie from UMass had 11 saves. Roman Puglise and Christian Zawadzki each tallied a goal from the middie position.
The remaining guys we expected to perform did so–Logan Wisnaukas tallied 4 G and 1 assist and #1 Jared Bernhardt scored 2G and 1A despite being the target of Bucknell’s defense.
Justin Shockey won 8-11 at the face-off X
The Terps did have some trouble with the 10 men ride and ball handling in general, but give credit to Bucknell for its excellent pressure defense.
So it’s 1-0 with Richmond coming in next Saturday at Noon.
