UCLA dominated Maryland Wednesday night at Xfinity Center, defeating the Terps 87-60 in a wire to wire victory. Maryland failed to reach double digit points before the 10 minute mark in the first half for the third straight game. Former Maryland Terrapin and current Coppin State head coach Juan Dixon was welcomed back home with a 95-79 loss to the Terps behind big performances from sophomore forward Juju Reese (24 points and 10 rebounds) and senior guards Hakim Hart (22 points and eight rebounds) and Jahmir Young (21 points and five assists).

Maryland easily handled the Binghamton Bearcats at Xfinity Center Tuesday night. The Terps led from wire-to-wire in a 76-52 win, in which forward Julian Reese matched his career-high 19 points and the defense forced 15 turnovers. Maryland had three players get into double figures

A fantastic defensive effort led the Maryland Terrapins to a 71-51 defeat of the Western Carolina Catamounts. Sophomore forward Julian Reese, one of three Maryland double-figure scorers, poured in 19 points and 12 rebounds. The Terps held Western Carolina to 27 percent shooting.
This won’t go down as Maryland’s prettiest win of the season, but the shots weren’t falling and as a result, the team got it done on the defensive end. Maryland shot 2-19 from three.

Head coach Kevin Willard made his Maryland debut Monday night in College Park and secured his first win over the Niagara Purple Eagles 71-49. In addition to Willard, six Terps donned a Maryland jersey for the first time and heavily contributed to the win.
Before the season, Willard mentioned two things that would be displayed on the court. Fast play and a lot of three point shots. His words lived up to the hype.

Maryland’s previous campaign was overcome with coaching changes, poor play and false hopes in a season that started with so much excitement, and ended in so much disappointment. Yet, the Terps’ first losing season since 1992-93 may have been for the best.
