Former Florida defensive back J.C. Jackson is planning to enroll at Maryland and will arrive on campus this week, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
The late addition of Jackson, who was once considered a top prospect in the class of 2014, bolsters Maryland’s secondary ahead of the start of fall camp in early August. Duquesne graduate transfer LG Gill has committed to Maryland, he told Scout.
Gill, a 6-foot-7 power forward, will be eligible to play for Mark Turgeon immediately. Statistically, Gill consistently got better at Duquesne and last season averaged 10.1 points and 6.5 rebounds a game.
Gill took a pair of visits when he opted to transfer from Duquesne. He visited Maryland officially this past weekend and previously visited Marquette.
