The Wizards didn’t have a single pick the 2017 NBA draft, but they were still busy. First let’s recap what happened to the Wizards picks
1st round (22nd pick)- Part of a trade for Bojan Bogdanovic at the 2017 in-season trade deadline. Wizards received: Bojan Bogdanovic and Chris Mccullough. Nets received: Wizards lottery protected first rounder, Marcus Thornton, and Andrew Nicoloson (more importantly, his contract).

The Wizards, at least for now, have fixed their backup point guard problem. The team announced yesterday that the Wizards have dealt their 2nd round pick in exchange for New Orleans Pelicans backup point guard Tim Frazier. This seems like a good value for the Wizards, 2nd round draft picks often take a few years to contribute, that is if they contribute at all. The Wizards are now the 27th team in the NBA to own a G-League (formally known as D-League, G stands for Gatorade) team. The team will play at the Wizards new practice facility starting in fall 2018, which in addition to being the home of the G-League club, will also be the Mystics home floor. Maryland Basketball’s 2018 recruiting crop continues to look very promising as 4-star point guard Devon Dotson has the Terps listed is his top eight. Dotson is ranked 38 on Scout, 36 on Rivals, 33 on ESPN, 25 on 24/7 for a composite ranking as the 31st best player in the 2018 class.
