When the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Tournament bracket was released at the beginning of May, it’s likely that Maryland fans circled May, 23rd on their calendars with either relish or angst. I truly believed Maryland would defeat the Tar Heels today going into the game. But my conviction wavered a little after taking an informal poll among the “experts” on press row. However when Hopkins took apart Syracuse though only winning by a goal, I was convinced that the artificial high rankings of the ACC was just that–artificial.
