More has made of the final shot by Yale that might have crossed the line for a tieing goal then was made of the missed out of bounds deflection by Duke that cost Wisconsin the title. There is very little outcry about the possession call mistake by the refs in the same game.
Why is this happening? Pure and simple–anti Maryland bias.

Let me set some parameters:
1) I’m a Maryland fan so I admit to some degree of inherent bias.
2) I’m over 60 years old and don’t have the sharpest eyes.
3) The Baltimore Sun’s website has posted a very slow motion view of the video Mark Millon Tweeted that together with Quint “I hated Maryland when I played for Hopkins and still do” Kessinich have fueled this discussion. You can watch it and judge for yourselves.

Wayne and Todd talk about Maryland’s thrilling come from behind 8-7 win over Yale in an NCAA Tournament first round game.
One correction – Todd says my 60 year old eyes saw the ball go up on Yale’s last shot. The video evidence shows it went down (and in?).
About the only way the first 10 minutes of the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Tournament game between the Maryland Terrapins and the Yale Bulldogs could not have gone much better for Maryland would have been if an early Terps shot or two had found the net rather than the post.
