It has been rumored for a while that the Wizards were looking to trade center Marcin Gortat, well, it finally happened. As first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Wizards will send the Polish Hammer to the LA Clippers in exchange for combo guard Austin Rivers.
This certainly raises more questions than it answers for the Wizards, but looks like a decent trade for the Wizards, we will have more reaction in the coming days.

Former Terps Center Diamond Stone was waived by the Atlanta Hawks today. The 20 year old was expected by many to have a real chance to contribute with the rebuilding Hawks this season, but the team’s depth at the center position (Dwayne Dedmon, Mike Muscala, and Miles Plumlee) was apparently enough to make the team think otherwise.
