It’s really sad to watch Gilbert take himself down. Where was his guidance? Where were his friends? I just don’t get it. After all that has happened with the guns in the locker room, etc it seemed like Gilbert was trying to right a sinking ship by cooperating fully with the authorities. But then in Philadelphia he pulled … Read More »
Mr. Arenas’ Statement
“I appreciated the opportunity to meet with law enforcement officials today. As the person who caused this trouble in the first place, I thought it was my duty to be the first witness to come forward and meet with the prosecutors and detectives. I told my attorney I wanted to get in for an interview as soon as we could arrange it, and that was today.
I told the detectives and prosecutors the whole story about my storing … Read More »
After finishing dinner at Tarks last night, I looked at the TV and saw the Wizards in familiar position –ahead by 1 with 8 minutes to play. Well the rest is history . Fifteen minutes the Wiz were toast losing again down the stretch. Flip—figure out something and please don’t take the added distractions role.
Flip you better learn soon that this is not the Gilbert of yesteryear. Cut to the chase—The Bullets are down by 1 with 16 seconds left and Gilbert has the ball. He lets the clock go down to 5 seconds then starts his vintage moves and he has the ball stolen from him by Tyreke Evans–yes the same guy who did the Terps in against Memphis last year. Gilbert scored 33 but once again failed down the stretch. The Wiz … Read More »
When Gilbert was an unsigned free agent, I wanted the Wizards to go after Baron Davis instead.(The larry Byrd exception was the reason I was given for the decision and it is understandable) Tonight you saw the difference in the 2. Gilbert’s 2 year injury hiatus has effected all his rhythm especially down the stretch. The Wizards were up 64-47 midway in the 3rd period and would up getting outscored 50-31 down the wire. Agent Zero made several sloppy plays … Read More »
Last night was maybe one of the best performances by a Bullets team in years. What is ironic is that the team was led to victory by Boykins and Nick Young. Gilbert was planted on the bench for the 4th quarter. It is almost unbelievable the impact the 5’5″ point guard (Boykins ) has had on the team.
The death of their Abe Pollin put some perspective into the Wizards internal bickering as the Caron Butlerless Bullets eked out a 1 point win over Philly. Butler and Arenas are at odds lately which hopefullt can be cured with a couple of Ws. Some reaction to Abe’s death from ESPN.com:
“He would want us to celebrate his life and not mourn his death,” Wizards coach Flip Saunders said. “That’s just the individual he was. But when you’re here going … Read More »
Sad news out of DC today, with the news of the Wizards owner passing away. Abe originally was one of 3 owners of the then Baltimore Bullets. The team was moved to Largo as the Capital Bullets and then became the Washington Bullets. The Wizards play Philly tonight and I am sure there will be many tributes paid. Check out Comcast at 7PM.
The honeymoon never started for Flip Saunders. According to Washington Post columnist Michael Lee, the Wizards are in turmoil. Brendan Heywood and Gilbert Arenas seem to be at odds. There is definitely an ego problem on this team according to Lee. Gilbert is just not his old self yet he is leading the team in crunch time but not succeeding . The season is still early, however.. Rumors are rampant that AI might be returning to the 76ers. Eddie Jordan … Read More »
Let’s see King James has 12 points and 7 assists inthe 1st quarter. The guy owns the Verizon Center.Antawn is back and had 13 in the first quarter—Cavs 35 Bullets 22. Randy Foye also returned to the lineup tonight, so the Wiz basically have their opening day lineup back. Despite a poor start, I believe they will be fine.
