Gilbert played well tonight until crunch time. Two missed free throws by Stevenson followed by 2 missed driving shots by Gil led to a defeat at the hands of DWade and the Heat.
Many guys on this team have a lot to prove this year. First and foremost is the former Agent Zero, Gilbert Arenas. Let’s see if he can put this team on his back while Antawn is recuperating. I do believe that Mike Miller will be a tremendous help as well as the return of Brendan Heywood gives this team big man depth it has never had. Here we go……………………………….
I know Artest is a great defenseman. I Know he carried the Rockets on his back. But adding a time bomb like Artest to a Championship team? WHY? What is Jackson thinking. Trevor Ariza was a key ingredient to the title run and now he is gone. Apparently its all about salary cap problems.Good luck repeating, Kobe. By the way with all the free agent signings in the NBA, do you notice you never hear the name of the Wizards … Read More »
Just when we had written off Lance Stephenson from the Maryland picture, his Dad announces in USA Today that the choice for his son is down to Maryland and Arizona. This is after the Terps had been written off weeks ago with Adam Zagoria saying his sources said Gary’s system was too rigid for Born Ready. I said that was hogwash then and I stand by it now. This is almost too bizarre to believe. Repeating his antics from last year, Agent Zero has declared he is ready to return to the Wizards lineup, to help the Wizards close out their current disastrous year (15-56 currently.) It seems like no one else from the Wizards organization knew anything about the decision. Gilbert has missed the entire season with a knee injury after receiving a near max contract. Compound this loss with the injury to Brendan Heywood and thus … Read More »

The only thing better then destroying the Yankees is having Mussina being treated like a batting practice pitcher. Adam Jones and Kevin Millar took care of business last night, helping to provide Guthrie then more runs (13) then he had received in all 8 of his losses. Millar’s 3 run homer and Adam Jones’ grand slam highlighted the night.

Ernie Grunfeld has now placed the immediate future of the Wizards franchise in the hands of recently oft injured Gilbert Arenas. I have always believed that the organization thinks it is ready to win the NBA Title with the Big 3 as its nucleus. Time will tell. The Wizards open up their summer league schedule Monday night with the Portland Trailblazers at 8PM on Comcast.
