Wayne and Todd talk about Maryland’s thrilling come from behind 8-7 win over Yale in an NCAA Tournament first round game.
One correction – Todd says my 60 year old eyes saw the ball go up on Yale’s last shot. The video evidence shows it went down (and in?).
Here’s a one stop shop for you for events of interest to sports fans in the Baltimore – Washington area:

The Maryland nine traveled to Columbus for as important a three game series as they have faced as the 2015 NCAA baseball season winds toward postseason play. After playing themselves squarely onto the NCAA Tournament bubble when Indiana swept them in College Park in their last Big Ten series, the Terps’ weekend got off to just the start they needed in Friday night’s 13-4 demolition of the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Even grizzled 12 year NFL veterans can display some degree of sentimentality. In this instance, the grizzled veteran is Ed Reed and the sentimentality is evident in his decision to re-sign with Baltimore, where he spent all but the final season of an illustrious career, so he could retire as a Raven.
Reed left Baltimore after helping the Raven win the 2012 Super Bowl. In 2013, he played for the Jets and Texans before sitting out the entire 2014 season.
The Washington Capitals travel to New York Friday night looking for a spot in the Eastern Conference finals. The Caps took a 3-1 series lead with Wednesday night’s 2-1 win at home in the Verizon Center on the strength of strong defense, a hot goalie in Braden Holtby and a pair of goals from rookie forward Andre Burakovsky.

After their road win in the first game of the conference semifinals at Atlanta, the Washington Wizards appeared to be in a position to win their second straight playoff series. Then John Wall landed awkwardly.

He’s had a rather checkered career in South Bend both on and off the field. Golson struggled on the field last season when he led the NCAA in turnovers. Off the field, he was suspended in 2013 for “poor academic judgment” and was not enrolled in the school.
Although both Golson and … Read More »

Although she seems upbeat, Maryland head coach Courtney Scott-Deifel doesn’t seem particularly happy as the Maryland Terrapins softball squad prepares to enter their first Big Ten Tournament. And with good reason. After moving above .500 in conference play with a sweep of Penn State, the Terps dropped seven of their final eight games to finish 9-14 and tied for eighth in the league.
Here’s some of the good news:
The nine wins in conference play alone nearly equals the entire output … Read More »

Despite their semifinal loss to Ohio State in the Big Ten Women’s Lacrosse Tournament, no one seemed surprised when the Terps women received the top overall seed for the NCAA Tournament.
Stony Brook and UMass are the only other teams entering the Tournament with just a single loss. Though they sport a … Read More »
