Recent Maryland graduate and women’s lacrosse midfielder Zoe Stukenberg was selected as one of 145 nominees for the NCAA Women of the Year Award.
Conferences and an independent selection committee picked the nominees from a pool of 543 school nominees.

The U.S. Women’s National Lacrosse team has rolled through the FIL Rathbones World Cup and will carry a perfect 7-0 record into Saturday’s final against Canada who is led by former Terps great Dana Dobbie. It’s with deep sadness (and gratitude to Bruce) that I write this memoriam to my friend Harry McGowan who died Friday of cryptogenic liver disease a few months shy of his 76th birthday.
Over the past few years, people have dubbed me “the non-rev” Todd Carton because of my passion for sports at Maryland that don’t draw much attention but the truth is that Harry was the original “non-rev” maven. His memory for past players and teams was prodigious.

If there were tears in the Boston College women’s lacrosse locker room after their 16-13 loss to the Maryland Terrapins in Sunday’s national championship game, the tears were well and legitimately earned. They were solely because of the outcome and wholly unrelated to their effort.
