I ran into Jimmy Patsos Sunday at the The Baltimore Farmers Market on Guilford Ave. He invited me to last night’s game vs Coppin State and promised it would be a great one. I went and yes it was. A nearly sold out arena watched Loyola hold on to a 10 point victory.
It was great to see Shane Walker as the unofficial leader of the Greyhounds —he opened up with 5 quick points and put Loyola in control.

Before my comments here is the report from The Diamondback:
Eight Terrapins sports teams have been recommended for elimination, university President Wallace Loh announced last night after receiving a report on how best to salvage the athletics department’s budget.
The President’s Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics said Loh should consider cutting “at a minimum” the following teams: men’s cross country, men’s indoor and outdoor track, men’s swimming and diving, men’s tennis, women’s acrobatics and tumbling, women’s swimming and diving and women’s … Read More »
2nd Guessing is rampant:
Ray Rice carries the ball 5 times?
Flacco continues to overthrow a wide open Torrey Smith–twice today for 2 possible TDs
Isn’t is possible that when the ball is kicked 5 yards deep in the end zone we could take a knee. We haven’t had but 1 or 2 decent runbacks this year. today David Reid lost the game with 2 fumbles. Ridiculous
After the TD to make the score 22-17 the Ravens kicked off from … Read More »

Maybe Nate is seeing the light.
The Terps are outscrapping UNCW tonight. What I have noticed:
Faust is starting at the point. His defense and rebounding are excellent for a Freshman. He has not found his shot tonight.
Sean is the glue as usual–6 points 5 bounds so far
Though Stoglin did not start, certainly he is the offensive go to guy-16 points so far–just got his first assist — a great dish to Weijs for a jam
Padgett has pleasantly surprised 4-5 from the … Read More »
Junior Harriet Tibble sent the Maryland field hockey team (17-4) to its fourth straight NCAA semifinals appearance Sunday with her game-winning goal in the Terps’ 2-1 overtime win over Syracuse (19-4) in College Park.
With 1:34 left in the first overtime period, Tibble drilled in her first goal of the year off of a corner inserted by Megan Frazer for the win.

Alyssa Thomas and Tianna Hawkins both had double-doubles, and No. 10 Maryland shut down 11th-ranked Georgetown, 72-53 Sunday at the Comcast Center.
“We’re just extremely proud for our team and excited for them,” head coach Brenda Frese said. “This work started in our offseason. This is why these girls are so much fun to coach. When you talk about how hungry they stayed in the offseason, to prepare themselves for this season.”
“Obviously, this was a terrific team win, the … Read More »
Danny O”Brien is a true Terrapin in every sense of the word. He loves Maryland with every inch of his fiber. Every Terrapin fan at FedEX was heartbroken when they saw the pain on his face as he left the field. Here’s hoping for a speedy and 100% recovery for a great Terrapin.
Cj looked sharp but the game was so out of hand it’s really hard to judge. The next 2 weeks will be a good teat for CJ. … Read More »
