I had a chance to speak with Montrose Coach Stu Vetter before the game tonight and yes he acknowledged the fact that Terrence Ross had reopened his recruiting process. Coach Vetter said there were 4 Eastern schools, including Maryland, in the hunt. The other 3 schools were certainly basketball powers according to the coach. Coach Vetter does not allow visits during the season, so most certainly a decision would most likely be put off until the spring.

Last year, I journeyed to Rockville to watch Stu Vetter’s Montrose Christian team. That day when I watched Terrnce Ross, I immediately could see what an impact player he could be.  Late in the 3rd quarter a I first got to see Justin Anderson. I was flabbergasted when I was told he was only 15. He is 6’6 220lbs and strongly built. He was nailing shots from everywhere, freelancing and fitting right into Montrose’s style. 15 years old—amazing. terrapintimes.com had … Read More »

From Rushthecourt.com comes the following synopsis on the impact of Greivis Vasquez for the 09-10 season:

Greivis Vasquez – Sr, G- Maryland. Love him or despise him with every bone in your body, there’s no denying the talent of Greivis Vasquez. There’s also no denying that Vasquez’ decision to stay at Maryland for his senior season rather than enter the NBA Draft had the greatest impact of any April decision in the country, vaulting the Terrapins from a likely-NIT team … Read More »

From terrapintimes.com comes the info that Greivis Vasquez has been huddled most of the day with Coach Gary Williams and Montrose Christian Coach and legal US guardian, Stu Vetter. According to terrapintimes.com, Greivis is waiting for some sort of guarantee from an NBA team that he will indeed be selected in the draft. (My speculation would be that if it was a 2nd round there would be an analyzation of the team and high probabilities of making the team.)Apparently that … Read More »

Daron Park, who will always be remembered for taking over the Lady Terps head coaching chores on the road while Brenda was pregnant, is leaving Maryland to take over the Associate Head Coaching  job at La Tech, according to terrapintimes.com. The great news is that his rumored replacement is former Montrose and Dematha assistant , David Atkins. Montrose Christian Coach and US Guardian for Greivis Vasquez , Stu Vetter informed Terrapin times.com  that Greivis is ” nowhere near signing with an agent”. Two of Vasquez’ workouts, with Cleveland and the Wizards went well but he has not climbed to the top tier status that will have him sign with an agent. He has until June 15 to make up his mind.
